Head of School - Dr. Mary Halpin Carter
At Derryfield, we set our sights high for the kind of experience we want our students to have: one that not only educates, but sets the expectation that they will become active members of their communities. We remind students that we need them to go out into the world and solve complex problems: problems of climate change, political unrest, and child poverty. The academic rigor at Derryfield stimulates their minds, bodies, and spirits - and is the foundation for graduating civically minded young people.
I have had the privilege of being a Derryfield teacher as well as Head of the Upper School, Academic Dean, Dean of Faculty and Academic Programs, and a parent, and in those roles witnessed the caliber of our faculty and the passion of our students. I can attest to the potential we have to inspire and to innovate -- and am honored to lead our faculty and staff at this consequential time in Derryfield's history.
